What happens when Islam takes root in an American city? Dearborn, Michigan, where some 30 percent of the city’s 98,000 residents are Muslim, may offer a clue.

The Muslim call to prayer can be heard on Dearborn streets where many billboards, street, and storefront signs are in Arabic. Grocers stock "halal" food items prepared in adherence to Islamic rules. In 2004, some Muslim residents of Dearborn held an anti-American, anti-Israel demonstration in which pictures of the late Iranian revolutionary leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini were displayed.

A year later, at the local public high school estimated to be 80 percent Muslim, the Muslim principal allegedly punched a student who had left Islam for Christ. In front of students and faculty, the principal allegedly scolded the student for "disgracing his family."

Cameras to Dearborn
Coral Ridge Ministries sent cameras to Dearborn recently to show the growing Islamic presence in Henry Ford's hometown. That footage is part of a brand new documentary, Radical Islam on the March, that airs nationwide September 20 and 27 on The Coral Ridge Hour. The documentary, also available for preorder, examines the Islamic idea of "jihad," the holy war called for against non-Muslims; the "Islamization" of European countries; attempts by Muslims to silence critics of Islam; and Muslim aspirations for global rule.

The program also captures inspiring accounts of Muslims converting to Christianity and shows how Coral Ridge Ministries is seeking to reach the Muslims through television.

The ultimate objective of Islamic extremists is to bring all nations under Muslim rule and into adherence to Sharia, Islam's code of law, according to experts featured on the new special.

"The goal of the jihadists, whether they will admit it or not, is to Islamize America," says Steven Emerson, counter-terrorism expert, author, and former CNN reporter.

"They believe the whole world should submit to Islam," adds Faisal Malick, an ex-Muslim.

"When they come into the United States of America, they want to see Sharia law implemented, they want to dominate every place of influence—in education and technology and law, in government, in finances."

Sharia in Europe
European Muslims have already etched Sharia into segments of society. They have established Sharia courts to settle disputes in accordance with Islam's code of law; and Sharia schools, mortgages, and insurance exists.

Great Britain has even softened toward groups with terrorist ties says Douglas Murray, the director of the Center for Social Cohesion, a London-based think tank that focuses on Islamic extremism.

"Organizations like Hamas," he noted, "are given free rein to speak across Britain's campuses."

These examples of the growing influence of Islam in Europe may be why Libyan dictator Moammar Kadafi claimed that "There are signs that Allah will grant Islam victory in Europe, without swords, without guns, without military conquests."

"The 50 million Muslims in Europe," he said, "will turn it into a Muslim continent within a few decades."

Geert Wilders, a member of the Dutch parliament, believes Kadafi's statement could prove true, if there is a failure "to defend our own Christian culture."

"Five Minutes to 12"
"I believe it's five minutes to 12 in Europe," he said, warning of what he believes to be radical Islam's imminent threat to the continent. "There is an enormous 'Islamization' through mass immigration and through demography, and the so-called leaders we have . . . are looking in the other direction."

Meanwhile, a survey by the Pew Forum reported in 2007 that 26 percent of American Muslims under age 30 think suicide bomb attacks are justified.

While it may be five minutes to midnight in terms of the Islamization of Europe, "In the United States, it might be 10 minutes to 12, maybe a quarter to 12," Wilders said. "So please get the sense of urgency. Choose leaders who see this problem and want to fight it, because in five minutes, maybe in fifteen minutes, [America] will have lost everything it stands for."
